These Terms of Service govern the relationship between you and ZimTravellers when you use our website, enquire about our services, or book a safari experience. Please read them carefully — they include important information about cancellations, deposits, liability, and what we promise to deliver.
1. About Us
ZimTravellers is a trading name of Brewlands Investments (Pvt) Ltd, a company registered in Zimbabwe. We design and arrange safari experiences across Zimbabwe, acting as an independent tour operator.
References to "ZimTravellers", "we", "us", or "our" in these Terms refer to Brewlands Investments (Pvt) Ltd.
References to "you" or "your" refer to the person using our website, submitting an enquiry, or making a booking.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By using the ZimTravellers website, submitting an enquiry form, or making a booking, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Service.
If you are booking on behalf of other travellers in your group, you confirm that you have authority to agree to these Terms on their behalf and that you will communicate these Terms to them.
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. The version in effect at the time of your booking applies to that booking.
3. Our Services
ZimTravellers designs, arranges, and coordinates safari experiences in Zimbabwe, including but not limited to:
- Day tours, game drives, and half-day excursions
- Multi-day safari packages and fly-in camps
- Accommodation at partner lodges and camps
- Guided wildlife and cultural experiences
- Airport transfers and inter-region transport
- Bespoke itinerary design for private groups
We act as both a direct provider for experiences at our own properties (including Khami Game Sanctuary and Matobo Hills Lodge) and as an agent for third-party lodges, camps, and service providers. Where we act as agent, the terms and conditions of those third-party providers may also apply to your booking.
4. Bookings & Deposits
Enquiries
Submitting an enquiry form or contacting us via WhatsApp does not constitute a booking. Your safari is confirmed only once we have issued a written booking confirmation and received the required deposit.
Booking confirmation
A booking is confirmed when:
- You have received and approved a written itinerary from ZimTravellers.
- You have paid the required deposit (see below).
- We have issued a written booking confirmation reference.
Deposit requirement
A non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total booking value is required to confirm your safari booking. For bookings made within 60 days of departure, full payment may be required at the time of booking.
Balance payment
The remaining balance is due no later than 60 days before your departure date. For bookings made within 60 days of departure, full payment is due immediately upon booking confirmation.
Payment methods
We accept payment via bank transfer and secure online payment link (DPO Group). All prices are quoted in United States Dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated. Bank transfer fees are the responsibility of the guest.
Important: Prices are guaranteed only at the time of booking confirmation and full deposit payment. Exchange rate fluctuations and third-party price increases prior to full deposit payment may affect the final quoted price.
5. Cancellation Policy
Cancellations by you
All cancellations must be received in writing (email to josh@zimtravellers.com). The following cancellation fees apply, calculated on the total booking value:
| Notice period before departure | Cancellation fee |
|---|---|
| More than 90 days | 30% of total booking value (deposit forfeited) |
| 60–90 days | 50% of total booking value |
| 30–59 days | 75% of total booking value |
| Less than 30 days | 100% of total booking value — no refund |
| No-show / departure day | 100% of total booking value — no refund |
Individual partner lodges and camps may have their own cancellation terms which supersede the above. Any such variations will be communicated to you in writing at the time of booking.
Cancellations by ZimTravellers
In the unlikely event that we must cancel your booking due to circumstances within our control, we will offer you a full refund of all monies paid, or the option to reschedule to alternative dates at no additional cost. We will not be liable for additional costs you may incur (such as flights or travel insurance) as a result of a cancellation by us.
Force majeure
ZimTravellers shall not be liable for cancellations or changes caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: natural disasters, government travel advisories, civil unrest, pandemics, extreme weather, or wildlife-related safety events. In such cases, we will endeavour to offer a reschedule or credit, but full refunds may not be possible where costs have already been committed to third parties.
We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance that covers trip cancellation, curtailment, and force majeure events. See Section 8.
6. Changes to Itineraries
Changes requested by you
We will accommodate reasonable requests to change dates, add activities, or modify itineraries wherever possible, subject to availability. Amendment fees of USD $50 per change may apply for modifications requested within 60 days of departure. Significant changes (destination, duration, number of guests) may be treated as a cancellation and rebooking.
Changes made by ZimTravellers
Safari experiences in Zimbabwe are inherently dynamic. Wildlife movements, weather, road conditions, and seasonal factors may require us to adjust activities, accommodation, or routing. We reserve the right to make reasonable itinerary changes where necessary for safety, wildlife, or operational reasons. Where changes are significant and not caused by force majeure, we will offer a suitable alternative or a partial refund of the affected portion.
Wildlife disclaimer
Wild animal sightings, including the Big Five, cannot be guaranteed. The nature of wildlife is unpredictable — this is part of what makes a genuine Zimbabwe safari extraordinary. No refund or compensation will be provided where specific wildlife sightings do not occur.
7. Pricing & Inclusions
All prices on our website are in USD and are correct at the time of publication. We reserve the right to correct pricing errors. If a pricing error has occurred and you have not yet paid your deposit, we will inform you of the correct price and give you the opportunity to proceed or cancel with no penalty.
What is typically included
Unless otherwise stated in your written itinerary, tour prices include: guide fees, park entry fees, transport specified in the itinerary, and meals as detailed in your package.
What is typically excluded
Unless explicitly stated, prices exclude: international and domestic flights, travel insurance, visa fees, personal spending, gratuities, alcoholic beverages (unless specified), and items of a personal nature.
Your specific itinerary will detail precisely what is and is not included in your booking.
8. Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is strongly recommended and may be required for certain activities (such as helicopter flights or white water rafting). Your insurance should at minimum cover:
- Trip cancellation and curtailment
- Emergency medical treatment and evacuation (including air ambulance — medical facilities in remote areas of Zimbabwe are limited)
- Personal liability
- Loss or theft of personal property
Zimbabwe's national parks and remote safari areas can be significant distances from the nearest hospital. Emergency medical evacuation by air ambulance can cost USD $20,000 or more. We strongly urge all guests to ensure their insurance covers this.
ZimTravellers does not sell travel insurance and does not endorse any specific provider. We recommend consulting a specialist travel insurance broker in your country of residence.
9. Liability
ZimTravellers takes your safety seriously and operates to high standards of care. However, safaris take place in wild environments and inherently involve an element of risk.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ZimTravellers' liability for any claim arising from your booking is limited to the total value of the affected portion of your booking. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses, including lost flights, additional accommodation costs, or loss of income.
Third-party providers
Where your booking includes services provided by third parties (partner lodges, airlines, activity operators), their own terms and conditions apply and they bear responsibility for their services. We are not liable for the acts or omissions of third-party providers.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for ensuring you hold a valid passport, any required visas, and any vaccinations recommended or required for Zimbabwe. You acknowledge that you have read our advice regarding health requirements and fitness levels for your chosen activities. ZimTravellers is not liable for costs arising from failure to hold the correct documentation.
10. Health, Fitness & Requirements
Zimbabwe is a malaria-endemic country. We strongly recommend consulting a travel health clinic or your GP about recommended prophylaxis and vaccinations (including Yellow Fever if you are arriving from a Yellow Fever endemic country, which may be a requirement for entry).
Certain activities on our itineraries — including walking safaris, canoe safaris, and high-altitude hikes in the Eastern Highlands — require a reasonable level of physical fitness. If you have any medical conditions, mobility limitations, or concerns, please disclose these to us at the time of enquiry so we can design an appropriate experience.
ZimTravellers reserves the right to exclude any guest from an activity if, in the reasonable opinion of our guide, their participation would endanger themselves or other guests.
11. Guest Conduct
Our guides operate in sensitive wildlife environments with strict ethical standards for animal welfare and conservation. Guests are expected to:
- Follow all instructions from ZimTravellers guides and lodge staff at all times.
- Respect the wildlife, ecosystems, and local communities encountered during your safari.
- Not approach, feed, or disturb wildlife outside of guide supervision.
- Refrain from behaviour that endangers themselves, other guests, or wildlife.
- Treat lodge staff and local guides with courtesy and respect.
ZimTravellers reserves the right to terminate a guest's participation in any activity or remove them from a tour without refund if their conduct poses a risk to safety, wildlife, or the experience of other guests.
12. Website Use
The ZimTravellers website and all content within it — including text, photography, itineraries, and pricing — is the intellectual property of Brewlands Investments (Pvt) Ltd unless otherwise stated. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content without prior written permission.
Prices and availability displayed on the website are indicative and subject to change. They are confirmed only through a written booking confirmation from ZimTravellers.
We make reasonable efforts to ensure website content is accurate and up to date but cannot guarantee that all information is free from errors. Tour descriptions, wildlife photography, and experience details are illustrative.
13. Disputes & Governing Law
These Terms of Service and any dispute arising from your use of our website or your booking shall be governed by the laws of Zimbabwe.
If you have a complaint about your safari experience, please raise it with your guide or lodge manager in the first instance. Formal complaints must be submitted in writing to josh@zimtravellers.com within 30 days of your return.
We are committed to resolving complaints fairly and promptly. If a complaint cannot be resolved between us, both parties agree to attempt mediation in good faith before initiating legal proceedings.
Nothing in these Terms limits any statutory rights you may have as a consumer under the laws of your country of residence, including consumer protection rights applicable under Norwegian or EU law.
