Booking Terms & Conditions

These Booking Terms and Conditions form a legally binding contract between you (the “Guest”) and ZimTravellers, a travel brand owned and operated by MHLTravels AS, a company registered in Oslo, Norway. By booking a tour or travel experience with us you agree to be bound by these Terms in full.
1. Who you are contracting with
ZimTravellers is a curated travel service offering tailor-made journeys and travel experiences across Zimbabwe and Southern Africa. All travel arrangements are made via MHLTravels AS (Norway) and our local operating partners in Zimbabwe.
2. Booking and payment
A non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your booking, with the exact amount specified at the time of reservation. The final balance is due no later than 60 days before departure, unless your invoice or confirmation states otherwise.
If payment is not received on time we may cancel the booking without refund.
3. Cancellation and refunds
All cancellations must be made in writing by email. Where a refund applies, we process it within 30 days.
- More than 60 days before travel — deposit retained; balance refundable.
- 31–60 days before travel — 50% of the total booking cost refundable.
- 30 days or fewer — no refund.
We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering unexpected cancellation.
4. What is included
Unless your personalised itinerary states otherwise, ZimTravellers journeys include:
- Handpicked accommodation
- Local guides and the experiences named in your itinerary
- Transport within Zimbabwe
- Park fees and entry permits
- 24/7 WhatsApp-based guest support
- VAT and relevant government levies
5. What is not included
- International flights to and from Zimbabwe
- Visas, border fees and associated costs
- Gratuities, unless specifically included
- Personal expenses, souvenirs and optional activities not listed in your itinerary
6. Changes by you
You may request changes to your booking up to 30 days before travel. We will do our utmost to accommodate requests; changes are subject to availability and may carry additional costs.
7. Changes by us
We may adjust itineraries for weather, safety, local regulations or operational reasons. Where possible we offer alternatives of equal or greater value. If a material change cannot be accommodated, you may choose between the amended arrangements or a refund of amounts paid for the affected services.
8. Health and travel risk
Travel in Zimbabwe involves inherent risks, including wildlife encounters, remote locations and variable infrastructure. You are responsible for ensuring you are fit to travel, for obtaining medical advice on vaccinations and malaria prophylaxis, and for disclosing any medical conditions that could affect your safety on activities booked.
9. Force majeure
We are not liable for failure to perform obligations caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including extreme weather, natural disaster, epidemic, strike, civil unrest or government action. In such cases we will work with you to reschedule or re-route wherever possible.
10. Travel insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is a condition of booking. Your policy should cover medical treatment, emergency evacuation, cancellation, curtailment and personal belongings for the full duration of your trip.
11. Children and minors
Children are welcome on many of our journeys. Age limits apply to certain activities (for example white-water rafting and some walking safaris) and are confirmed at booking. Child rates are quoted individually once ages are confirmed.
12. Liability
MHLTravels AS acts as organiser and works with carefully selected local suppliers. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim is limited to the value of the services booked. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
13. Guest behaviour
Guides may remove any guest from an activity whose behaviour endangers themselves, others or wildlife, without refund. Park rules and guide instructions must be followed at all times.
14. Data protection
We process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation. See our Privacy Policy.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway, and disputes fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Oslo.
