Plan With Confidence
Payments & deposits
Paying for travel to Zimbabwe should feel as solid as paying for travel anywhere in Europe. This page sets out exactly what’s due, when, through which channel — and what happens if plans change.
How paying works
01 · Confirm
A deposit secures your booking — guides, rooms and park permits are committed the day you confirm, which is why it’s non-refundable. The exact amount is set out on your reservation.
02 · Settle
The balance is due no later than 60 days before departure, against a clear, itemised invoice.
03 · Travel
Nothing owed on the ground except what you choose to add along the way. The price we quote is the price you pay.
Ways to pay
Bank transfer
Direct transfer in EUR or USD. Account details are shared over encrypted channels once your booking is confirmed — never in a public document.
Card
Visa, Mastercard and American Express, processed through Stripe (PCI DSS Level 1). We never see or store your full card number. American Express carries a 3% surcharge.
Secure payment link
Prefer one click? We send a secure Stripe payment link with your invoice and you pay in the browser, on any device.
Fees and currency
Journeys are priced in US dollars. ZimTravellers adds no processing fees on standard payment methods — though your own bank may apply a foreign-transaction fee, typically 1–2%. The only surcharge from our side is the 3% on American Express.
If plans change
| When you cancel | What comes back |
|---|---|
| More than 60 days before travel | Deposit retained; balance refundable |
| 31–60 days before travel | 50% of the total booking cost refundable |
| 30 days or fewer | No refund |
Cancellations must be made in writing by email. Where a refund applies, we process it within 30 days. Changes to a booking can be requested up to 30 days before travel — we do our utmost, subject to availability.
Travel insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is a condition of booking. Your policy should cover medical treatment, emergency evacuation, cancellation, curtailment and personal belongings for the full duration of the trip. It’s the one thing we won’t bend on — Zimbabwe rewards the well-prepared.
