Ruckomechi Camp

A tented camp on the Zambezi in western Mana Pools, in the winterthorn forest that makes the park famous.

Ruckomechi stands on the Zambezi at the western end of Mana Pools, under the winterthorn forest that gives the park its light. Walking is the point here, and it is one of the few places in Africa where you go on foot among elephant as a matter of course. Canoeing on the river channels when the level suits. The camp runs from April to mid-November and closes for the rains.
