Itinerary
Five private days. Two nights at Khami Lodge, two nights at Matobo Hills Lodge, and every transfer arranged from and back to Bulawayo.
We collect you from your Bulawayo hotel, home or agreed meeting point in a private vehicle. Your first stop is UNESCO-listed Khami Ruins for a guided walk through the decorated stone terraces and royal platforms. Continue to Khami Wilderness Reserve, settle into Khami Lodge and head out on an afternoon game drive before your first night on the estate.
Spend a full day inside the private reserve. Your guide can shape the day around fishing at the dam, tracking wildlife on foot, game drives and a visit to the estate's small San rock-art sites. Lunch can be served out in the bush, with an evening bush meal arranged when conditions and the lodge programme allow. Return to Khami Lodge for your second night.
After breakfast and your second night at Khami Lodge, leave the reserve in a private luxury vehicle for Matobo Hills Lodge. Settle in among the granite hills, then begin the two-day Matobo programme with rhino tracking on foot and a guided visit to World's View and Cecil Rhodes's grave. The exact order can move with park conditions.
Today pairs two very different Matobo experiences: a guided walk to one of the park's painted caves, followed by an Ndebele village visit hosted with local community partners. Return to Matobo Hills Lodge for your second night. Matobo National Park entry fees and both guided activities are included.
Enjoy breakfast at Matobo Hills Lodge and a final slow look across the kopjes. Your private vehicle then completes the loop with a direct transfer back to your Bulawayo hotel, home or agreed drop-off point.
