Five days from Harare through the misty mountains to the ancient stone ruins. Drive up into the Eastern Highlands for Nyanga's waterfalls, trout streams and hiking trails, then the Chimanimani wilderness, one of southern Africa's best-kept hiking secrets. Finish at Great Zimbabwe, the medieval city that named a nation, before the return to Harare.

Five days: Harare → Nyanga → Chimanimani → Great Zimbabwe → Harare. This is a compact road itinerary with substantial travel days.

Day 1

Harare's Cultural Heart

Arrive in Zimbabwe's vibrant capital and check into the legendary Meikles Hotel—a colonial-era icon. Spend the morning at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe, where contemporary African art mingles with traditional sculptures and colonial-era pieces. The evening unfolds at leisure, discovering Harare's restaurants, galleries, and the energy of Zimbabwe's cultural centre.

Day 2

Nyanga's Misty Mountains & Waterfalls

Mutarazi Falls dropping into the forested gorge in the Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe

Transfer to the Eastern Highlands, where the landscape rises into mist and green. Visit Mtarazi Falls, one of Africa's highest waterfall systems, cascading through forest and rock. The afternoon brings trout fishing in pristine mountain streams—a uniquely Zimbabwean experience combining sport, solitude, and the sound of flowing water.

Day 3

Chimanimani Wilderness & Bridal Veil

Leave Nyanga early for the road journey to Chimanimani. If arrival time allows, make a short visit to Bridal Veil Falls. Longer mountain hikes require an extra night.

Great Zimbabwe's Stone Legacy

Depart early for Masvingo and Great Zimbabwe. A guided visit to the ruins is arranged around arrival time, with an overnight nearby.

Return to Harare & Departure

Return to Harare, with time for final explorations—perhaps the Harare Gardens, the Saturday craft markets, or a last dinner at a favourite restaurant. Depart knowing you've experienced Zimbabwe's cultural depth and natural beauty in the Eastern Highlands.

  • A 25% deposit is required to confirm your itinerary and is non-refundable.
  • If we receive your written cancellation more than 90 days before departure, the cancellation charge is 25% of the total booking price.
  • For cancellations received 61-90 days before departure, the charge is 50%.
  • For cancellations received 31-60 days before departure, the charge is 75%.
  • For cancellations received 30 days or fewer before departure, or in the event of a no-show, the charge is 100%.
  • Certain camps, lodges, private vehicles, permits and special arrangements may impose earlier or higher non-refundable charges. Any such condition will be itemised and disclosed before you pay your deposit and will apply only to the affected component.
  • Changes requested after services have been confirmed are subject to availability, supplier charges and repricing. A reduction in the number of travellers may increase the per-person price for those who continue to travel.
