Itinerary

Day by day.

Every drive timed for golden hour. Every hide chosen for composition. The journey begins and ends in Victoria Falls.

HWANGE NATIONAL PARK
Day 1

Arrival with a Specialist Photo Guide

Arrival with a Specialist Photo Guide

Your specialist wildlife photographer meets you at Hwange National Park, immediately discussing light, composition, and the behaviour of the wildlife you'll pursue. The golden hour of your first afternoon provides perfect conditions: soft light, active animals, and the chance to dial in your settings with your guide's expert eye.

Day 2

Waterhole Light & Predator Portraits

Waterhole Light & Predator Portraits

Before dawn, you're positioned at a hidden waterhole where birds congregate and predators hunt. This is the photographer's dream—hour after hour of subjects, changing light, and behavioural moments. The afternoon focuses on elephants: matriarchs, calves, musth bulls—each frame tells a story.

MATOBO HILLS
Day 3

Matobo's Granite Domes & Desert Light

Matobo's Granite Domes & Desert Light

Transfer to the Matobo Mountains, where granite domes rise like cathedrals from the plain. Your photographer guide positions you for landscape gold: the textured stone, lichen patterns, and the play of shadow across the kopjes. Every angle is frame-worthy.

Day 4

Rhinos, Rock Art & Timeless Images

Rhinos, Rock Art & Timeless Images

Track rhinos on foot through Matobo's rocky terrain, capturing behaviour and habitat in intimate detail. Visit San rock art caves where ancient paintings meet modern photography—the layering of human history and your own artistic vision creates something transcendent. Light beams through cave openings frame the ancient art perfectly.

VICTORIA FALLS
Day 5

Zambezi Wildlife & Golden Hour Magic

Zambezi Wildlife & Golden Hour Magic

Transfer to Victoria Falls and the Zambezi River. Afternoon photography from a boat reveals hippos, crocodiles, and birdlife in their natural habitat. The golden hour delivers light that seems almost impossible—warm, directional, perfect for capturing the river's raw beauty and the wildlife depending on it.

Day 6

Falls Mist & Aerial Perspectives

Falls Mist & Aerial Perspectives

The rainforest walk through Victoria Falls is a photographer's challenge and triumph: bringing a waterproof camera housing to capture mist, spray, and the sheer scale of the chasm. Then ascend in a helicopter for aerial shots of the Falls' intricate gorge system and the Zambezi's path—a perspective only few photographers achieve.

HWANGE NATIONAL PARK
Day 7

Portfolio Review & Departure

Portfolio Review & Departure

Gather for a sunrise editing session where your guide reviews highlights, discusses technique, and helps you organise your best work. Export your portfolio knowing you've captured Zimbabwe's greatest wonders through a photographer's eye. Depart with thousands of images and an education in light, composition, and wildlife behaviour.
